From Stock to Race-Ready: A Talaria Sting R Build with FASTACE
How weekend rider Marco turned a stock Talaria Sting R into a class-winning enduro machine in three upgrade weekends.
Marco's Sting R came home from the dealer feeling planted, but as soon as he stepped up to faster trails it began bottoming on g-outs and chattering through brake bumps. The fix: AHX12RV up front, FASTACE rear shock with a 110 N/mm progressive spring, and a 30-minute sag session.
Weekend one: AHX12RV install, fork height set 5 mm above the upper clamp for slightly quicker steering. Stock front wheel and brakes retained.
Weekend two: rear shock swap with the FASTACE replacement and progressive spring. Sag set to 31% rider sag, rebound at 12 clicks out from full hard.
Weekend three: race prep — chain tension, sprocket swap, tire pressures dialed. Result: third place at the regional E-Enduro round, with zero suspension fade across two 25-minute motos.
